In Semitic tongue it is called MISR. The name Egypt and the corresponding in different foriegn languages was derived from the Greek Aegyptus; since ancinent Greeks heard the name as [Oiko-Ptah] i.e. the dwelling/home/house of Egyptian god Ptah. Some refer the name to QEPHT or KEFT, an ancient name of the land. Others refer it to QEPT i.e. Copts, the Eyptian Christians. However; I am inclined towards the 1st one, it seems more convincible from the linguist point of view. Latest technologies.
