Here, one of the basic ceremonies of Haj or Omra takes place in Saudi Arabia. This building in the middest is the Kaaba, that was set up by Abraham and his son Ismail. It is close to Zamzam well, Safa and Marwa Hills. It is the geographical 4 directions to which moslems worldwide are directed while performing prayers. The rows that appear in the photo are worshippers performing a prayer to God at such Mosque called Al-Haram.

" Say ye: We believe in God, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) Prophets from their Lord: we make no difference between one and another of them: and to Him we are dedicated." [Quran / Albaqara : 136] On Adha Feast Moslems commemorate the sacrifice of Abraham, and the rush of Hagar seeking water for her infant Isma'il." Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in dream/vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: now see what is thy view!" (the son) said: "O my father! do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills, one practising Patience and Constancy!" So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), We called out to him, "O Abraham! "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" thus indeed do We reward those who do right. For this was obviously a trial, And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times. [Quran / Assafat : 102 sqq] Now one third of such sacrifice -that slaughtered by Moslems on Adha Feast- is offered to the poor, another (third) to friends, and the last kept for family use.

On this Feast Moslems commemorate the sacrifice of Abraham:* 1 After these things God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here am I." 2 He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Mori'ah, and offer him there as a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I shall tell you." ... 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of them together. 7 And Isaac said to his father Abraham, "My father!" And he said, "Here am I, my son." He said, "Behold, the fire and the wood; but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?" 8 Abraham said, "God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son." So they went both of them together. 9 When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar, upon the wood. 10 Then Abraham put forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. 11 But the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven, and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" And he said, "Here am I." 12 He said, "Do not lay your hand on the lad or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me." 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son. [Old Testament / Genesis 22]
