Enjoy a local hanging with fine wine or espresso

A town with much Western lore, known as Hangtown from it rough past, is now a gentrified wine town with some edgy spots. The town really got going when gold was discovered in nearby Coloma in 1849. Since a number of newcomer's to the gold region felt that gold mining using the end of a knife or a pointed gun was less work, the "citizens" took matters in their own hands. They tried a couple thieves with an impromptu citizens jury, found them guilty and someone in the crowd yelled "hang em". A nearby white oak was used and the town of Hangtown was informally adopted.
