I admit I didn't feel any vortex. But after much wine and margueritas I did feel my head swim. Sedona and surroundings, especially the surroundings, are magnificently beautiful. Unfortunately, the town sprawl is kind of a bummer. The drive South to Sedona following Oak Creek is tranquill as long as you are not in a rush. Plus you have many great cliff dwellings to explore.
