Buzz on the street - Best Paella in all the World

In dire need of a day of exercise and physical exertion I was compelled to rent a mountain bike in old town Valencia and head South down to L'Albufera and targeted El Palmar as a lunch stop. El Palmar is 20.5 kilometers South of Valencia along CV-5000 and 3-4 miles inland from the road to el Saler. On a bike you notice the wildlife and family farms that are in abundance on each side of the road to El Palmar. Whether or not you can get the best paella in the world in El Palmar, this traveler is clueless as discussed later.

Small town, interesting houses

The place is only two street wide, maybe a bit more if you include some small side streets, but it does have a bit of character. Mostly lined with restaurants, there are some very interesting houses. Some faced with tile, some with thatched roofs.

The Main Drag

Just to give you a more complete view of the main street in el Palmar, I have provided you a photo. Restaurants are in abundance along with a few shops. While I wanted to try the famous Paella from El Palmar, the paella dishes were all set for two people. As I really was not in the mood to stuff myself, I didn't order the paella.
