Bordeaux turned out to be a city of many surprises. One was the Palais Gallien, 2 dn century Roman amphitheater located then on the outskirts of the town, but now hidden in a neighborhood and not noticeable from any major streets.
A glass of wine....I don't think I had wine with breakfast, but it was a must with lunch and dinner.

A fine page here, Karl! It's great that you rented a bicycle to get around Bordeaux, and I will definitely do the same when I go there.
Hi Don, yes it was great having the bike. Not a great bike, but fun just the same. I took it to Libourne (not exactly the tourist capital of the world) via train, and then cruised around the wine country to St. Emilion. Karl
A good page about one of my favourite cities!
