Location Oliva is a spanish working town with a fantastic beach. The beach is very quiet in the Winter but July and August it is really busy and popular. It is not a commercialised beach area, although some fantastic restaurants to eat in. It is mainly a second home resort for the French and people from Madrid along with a few lucky people that can afford a property there. Beautiful golden sand beaches with lots of free parking. Oliva itself is located in between Valencia and Alicante Airport and the easiest way to reach it is by car, it has its own junction off the A7. You can make the journey by public transport but it all depends on timings as there are only buses into Oliva. Oliva only has a couple of hotels but plenty of Bed and Breakfasts available. |
Places to eat and Drink Over 400 places to get food and drink - so plenty of options from traditional spanish, italian, english or chinese restaurants. There is always at least 1 bar open for a coffee, beer etc. |
What to do In Oliva itself it is worth visiting when there is a Fiesta on, and there are many in a year, Three Kings 6th Jan, Easter Week - varied dates, Fallas March 19th, Moors and Christians 3rd weekend of July, plus many others, everybody gets together to party. There are lots of outside cafes to watch the world go by. Every Friday is Market Day (unless a fiesta and then it moves to the Thursday). Property prices in Oliva are cheaper than further down the coast but they still seem to be rising. There a walking tours of the town, although I have not been on one, we have a lot of hills!! A town for all ages and people generally make you feel welcome. |
