"Like Wine?" a Bernkastel-Kues Travel Page by LexiB

I went to Bernkastel with friends of mine for the wine fest. Oh my god! Whew! Lets just say when I got home, I couldn't get up for a day and a half. I'm not a beer drinker (I know, I live in Germany), so this was definitely up my alley. We got to town and proceeded to tear it up. I met SO many cool people, drank BOTTLES of wine (hey! it appears we have an "empty"! We need to fix this problem.", ate the hell out of some fried mushrooms (served with a creamy garlic sauce--yeah, my breath was pretty rank, but they were so good), and flirted with every cute random guy that crossed my path ("Hey! NICE shoes. . .") and no, the wine goggles were NOT clouding my vision.

Once you get to the fest, get yourself one of those wine glasses you can sling around your neck. Go to the different booths and try the wines. Do your best to find a seat and proceed to "taste" wine all afternoon into the night. I found that I really lean towards the white wines although I did find a couple of reds that were pretty tasty. Oh, don't forget to grab some munchies, because you'll need them.

Aahh, the beauty of fests. . . I have no idea who this guy is, but he definitely had me do a double take when I laid eyes on him. Yes, by this time, I was a bit under the influence (you can't see it, but I think I was grabbing his arse) and in my wine-induced zone. He had some of the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen and he was kind enough to take a picture with me. And yes, if I remember correctly, he did have nice shoes . . .
