Leányfalu is a village about 25 km north of Budapest, neighbouring Szentendre. There are various options to get there.

If you go by car, you should follow road number 11 from Budapest, it takes about 30-45 minutes.

It is also possible to take a bus from Budapest at the Újpest-Városkapu (M3) underground station. Buses usually leave every 30 minutes, and the trip takes 50 minutes. If you're already in Szentendre, you can catch a bus from there as well.

Probably the most pleasant way to get there is to take a boat on the Danube. There is a daily service between Budapest and Visegrád that also stops at Leányfalu. The trip takes 2 hours.

If you're ready to ride a bike, it takes about 2,5 hours to get there from Budapest. Just follow the bike route on the western shore of the Danube over Szentendre to Leányfalu. The route is wonderful, and well worth the effort.

We usually visit Leányfalu to go to the open-air bath there. It is one of the best bathes around Budapest. It has two thermal-water pools, two childrens' pools and two swimming pools, one of which is a standard 50-meter pool. It is usually open until 19:00, but Fridays it opens once again between 20:00 and midnight for night bathing, which is real fun. However, you should be aware that there are no buses back to Budapest after 21:00, so you need a car if you're returning after that!
