Just before Christmas we decided to give ourselves a little Chrismas bonus so as per usual - I decided to blow mine on a flight into the unknow instead of saving for a rainy day!
My flight left on New Years Day and took me on my first trip to the Southern Hemispere. Primarily, I was going to watch England take on SA in the 3rd test match but I stayed for 2 weeks and took in some sights.
I I flew SAA which was ok but a bit cramped and I stayed at the Capetonian near the V&A waterfront which was a great location. The hotel was fine although I found out it was Malay owned which meant that the restaraunt wasn't licencsed. Now, to your discerning traveller this might not seem too much of a problem but for an Englishman who'd just been sat in the Sun for 7 or 8 hours watching his team lose, it proved a bit of an obstacle.
However, the location meant that help was at hand with the fabulous V&A on the doorstep and Long Street just a short cab ride into town. |
