I was in grade seven when I went here, so it has definitely been a long time, so I got these pictures from my parents who made it back in October '06 to visit family. I could have gone again, but opted for NYC and La Romana. I'll get back again, for sure. These pictures are fairly general, but beautiful, and pretty much the same places I saw too. We are fortunate to have family there who act as great hosts. |
|  | Being 12 during this trip, it was pretty amazing to pull up to our hotel (the Renaissance) and see a movie star-like woman in a long, sparkly black dress get out of a lamborghini with the assistance of a tuxedo-clad man lol. There were limos everywhere, luxury cars, expensive boutiques and restaurants (a modest Cannery dinner for 3 cost $300). Kind of a surreal experience for me :) |
| | The driving was a little bit scary. My cousin the chauffeur drove us around like a madwoman in her little Honda Civic. Did you know that the bridge switches the middle lane after a certain time?!? Needless to say, I was very concerned at the time and will probably have a mini-heartattack when I go back just thinking about it. I hate being the passenger sometimes, it can be very nerveracking! |
