Grenada is one of the most beautiful islands in the caribbean. The beaches are great, and the capital town of st. georges has a european/carib feel to it as the buildings remind you of the british and french colonial past.

The people are very friendly, but if you act touristy, some locals can try to rip you off. but hey thats a part of travelling right?

The island is very simple to go around as it is very small. the attractions are the beach, and pretty much the caribbean culture. the food isnt bad either. if youre into seafood, its a great place to go.

There are several places to stay in Grenada, as there are many hotels with a range of prices. Most of the hotels are along the beaches, and the difference in price seems to be the matter of whether you get hot or cold water in the shower.

Grenada recently got hit by a large hurricane and the damage was disastrous. I would wait a few months before going there on vacation. See more on my hurricane section of Grenada.

Grenadians as mentioned before are very friendly laid back people. Dont be frustrated when service is very slow, as people there dont live against the clock. Many locals there enjoy going to the beach on holidays, and playing football or cricket. On the other days, they go to work like everyone else, but their work hours are much shorter when compared to other countries. Its a very relaxed, no stress living environment.

Grenada recently got hit by hurricane Ivan, resulting in massive damage to the buildings on every part of the island. The beautiful island is in repair at the moment, so it may not be the best idea to go visit right now, unless you are willing to help rebuild the country.
