La Tomatina Festival

If I could do only one thing in Spain, it would be to attend (for the 2nd time) the biggest tomato fight in the world.

It takes place on the last Wednesday of August in a small city called Bunol, in the region of Valencia.

My sister and I happened to be there coincidentally, and had no idea what to expect...
The insanity begins as thousands of pounds of tomatos are dumped on the narrow city streets, and the crowd goes wild throwing, and stuffing it down each others back.
Just imagine tomatos in you ears, eyes, nostrils, underwear etc.

(Remember this rule: squish the tomato before throwing it. It really does hurt when you get whipped in the face with a hard one.)
Near the end we were literally swimming in tomato juice, yum!

When it was all over, dozens of locals drained and cleaned the streets, while we walked to a nearby river to rince off.

ENJOY!!!

Pros:"Incredibly fun and unique experience."
Cons:"GIRLS BEWARE! Spanish men love to pick on girls by ripping off their shirts. Expect this especially if you're a tourist, and double or triple your tops!"
In A Nutshell:"You'll never look at a tomato the same!"
