Walk through "The Rocks" and go back in time to an era during the 1800's, sandstone cottages and cobbled streets......starting near the harbourbridge, follow the harbourwalk along side the water all the way around, pass the museum, pass the Ferry terminal, the train station, pass the cafes, bars and restaurants until you get to your destination - the Opera House. From this point you will see excellent harbour bridge/Opera House and city views. It is of course especially pretty at night - you must see both views. This is an excellent spot to see the fireworks ( if you are lucky enough to get there early before NYE and claim your spot)

Address: Circular Quay - Sydney
Directions: If you walk all the way north, down the main street, George Street, you will eventually get to "The Rocks" and the Harbour Bridge where you can start heading east along the Harbour towards the Opera House.

Royal National Park is the world's second oldest national park - after Yellowstone in the USA. Check out the rich rainforests along Lady Carrington Drive go on a historic walking and cycling trail beside the Hacking River. Swim at Wattamollas beach, waterfalls or lagoon (where you will always find a bunch of kids leaping off the top of a rock into the ocean.) Then there is Garie beach where you just have to walk up to those clifftop heathlands. There is a kiosk here and the surf is great. Camping/Fishing/BBQ/Canoeing and Boating facilities are located within this park. My personal favourite spots were Bundeena/Wattamolla/Garie Beach

Directions: You can drive to Bundeena, or take a ferry from Cronulla. You can get a train from Sydney City to Cronulla. It will be at least an hour drive from Sydney - the longest part always seems to be driving through the huge National park!

Central Coast.: Neverending Rugged Coastlines and Crystal Beaches

Munmorah State Conservation Area: "12 km of rugged coastline makes a fine site for water sports, coastal walks with magnificent ocean views and wildflower displays in spring." http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov .au/parks.nsf/ParkContent/N0605?OpenDocument&ParkKey=N0605&Type=Xo
Walk into bushland taking in the sights and sounds of the '"unique local "nightlife". Enjoy spotlighting marsupial mammals, listening for birds and frogs. Experience the stillness and darkness of the night - gaze at the stars away from the city lights. Campsites are suitable for: caravans; camper trailers; camping beside your vehicle.
DONT LEAVE WITHOUT WALKING ALONG BIRDIE BEACH. WIth its untouched never ending beach and crystal blue waters.....no commercialism, litter and barely a soul in sight.
Warning: There are no lifeguards on this beach. There is normally a rip running South to North, which sometimes can have very strong undertows. Best advice, stay in shallow waters!
This beach is only one and a half hours drive from Sydney. On a small area in the northern end of the beach you will see a nudist section of people.
Birdie Beach can be reached by travelling along the expressway from Sydney and taking the Newcastle exit. Follow the Pacific Highway through Doyalson to Lake Munmorah. At Lake Munmorah, take Elizabeth Bay Road at the traffic lights. Drive until you see the entrance to the Munmorah State Recreational Area on the left. Turn into the park and follow the signs to the Birdie Beach car park.
Situated in a National Park a fee of $7.50 per vehicle is charged to enter the park. There is a nice camping area just off the beach with cooking facilities.
Hang gliding on the Birdie Beach Dunes:
Quite steep, these dunes offer an enjoyable dune flight hard to beat. Dune hopping, Top-Landing , can all be practiced with ease, and relative safety.

Things To Do: Fox Studios - the making of the new Superman

The new superman is currently being filmed in good ole Sydney. We caught some of the action on York Street in Sydney. You can go checkout the "Daily Planet" at the "Grace Hotel" and the Metropolis at "Wynyard Station" I got some photos of Kate Bosworth working on set, in front of the park across from Wynyard Station. It was odd to have a hot sunny Sydney day looking a little too much like New York :) Other filming locations are taking place in Fox Studios, areas of York Street and Tamworth.

St Marys Cathedral - located in the city of sydney, across from the Hyde Park and near the Domain. St Mary's Cathedral is the spiritual home of Sydney's Catholic community. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Sydney, and stands on the site of the first Catholic Chapel in Australia. Constructed in local sandstone, the "Gothic Revival" style of its architecture is reminiscent of the great medieval cathedrals of Europe. St Mary's is not only a great legacy from the past, however: it is vital part of the present spiritual and cultural life of the city and the nation. The Cathedral is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, under the title of Immaculate Mother of God, Help of Christians.

Driving across the Anzac Bridge towards the city, and its a great buzz, great view of the city skyline as you head east. The bridge is a great piece of engineering as well :) The ANZAC Bridge (formerly known as the Glebe Island Bridge), completed in 1996, is: the longest cable-stayed bridge in Australia at 345 metres amongst the longest concrete cable-stayed bridges in the world a landmark visible from many of the city's inner metropolitan suburbs. The bridge forms part of the Glebe Island arterial connecting Darling Harbour to the City-West Link Road.

Sydney Buildings: Harry Seidler Architecture

Harry Seidler is one of Sydneys better known Architects. If you are into buildings and checking out different architecture, look up some work by Harry Seidler. There is alot of it around Sydney and is easy to walk from building to building. He is known for his use of marble, curved staircases and curved balconys. One of my favourites is the Horizon apartment building. Im not sure what it is about this particular building, but i love looking at it as i drive past.... It is located in the Eastern Suburbs and can be seen while driving east up William Street.
