Name of Shop: Lots of tradional shops
Just up the road from Paralio Astros, on the Tripoli road, is the main town of Astros. It's a maze of roads, all leading to different parts of the town, which is quite strung out. I'm pretty sure a lot of these roads are one-way, but never mind! We were forever getting lost, driving through.
There are a couple of banks, every grocery shop you could need as well as at least one central local crafts shop. This place looked amazing!! It's on the main cafeneon square. We sat and had a drink here (much cheaper than P.Astros) and watched life go by.
It's a very Greek town, the only problem we had was knowing where we were allowed to park! Tricky....
Well worth a visit.
There is an archeological museum here where some of the finds from Herodes Atticus' villa are on display. Closed when we visited.
What To Buy: I suspect everything here would be cheaper than in Paralio Astros.
