Flip Flops and Teya in Myanmar

by zazatann - last update: May 3, 2008

Mingalaba.....Hello Myanmar, my friend

me and my new friends
Sometimes, when something is too close to me, I usually look over it because I think I can get it so easy at any time. As same as Myanmar, my neighbor country where it takes only 1 hour on the plane to get there, where I always refuse to go but choose to see USA or Europe more than this country. I never knew that I make a mistake after I visited Myanmar. Myanmar helps me to open my eyes, ears (but not mouth) to be bigger. Picture of Myanmar is changed from what I’ve seen in the news, to be another in very positive way. I don’t have to carry any make up but only one box of Myanmar traditional powder. I don’t have to wear a beautiful shoes but flip flops. I don’t have to speak Myanmar language but I can make so many Myanmar friends.

What I must have is ‘Time’ and ‘Money’ (hahahaha…..). If you’re ready to know about my 17 days in Myanmar trip, let’s find out here !!!
novice

Monks and ice-cream

Beside “money” that I have to see every day during my trip in Myanmar, another thing that I see everyday is ‘monk’ or/and ‘novice’. This is real Buddhist country where you’ll see them all over the country. I see them every day until I addict in seeing this maroon color of their robe. It’s persuaded my camera so much. Seeing monks is like me seeing ice-cream. I just love it.
Noodle

Noodle, almost main food in Myanmar

If you’re a noodle lover, Myanmar is the right country that you will survive in to live in this country. Noodle is everywhere in all over the country. Some shop, even though you’re not hungry but after you try to taste it, you’ll have to order at least one. Just like this bowl. I tried this noodle during 15 minutes taking a break of the taxi driver, while I was going to the mountain.
