The City of Angel

bangkok city
That's the meaning of Bangkok where i live for longer than 20 years now. We call 'Krung tep' in Thai language but foriegner calls 'Bangkok'.

Well, as Thai people like to say in wrong English 'same same but different'

Krung tep or Bangkok is same same but different....haha...

Welcome to the City of Angel, where is full of color of life, culture and activities. This capital city is big and crazy but our heart is not crazy like that. Just nice and warm which you can't find this much in the world....

Interesting?? Come and find it out by yourself then....

The bad reputation about Bangkok?

In my opinion, there are many people don’t know the truth of Bangkok. Someone thinks Bangkok is not good to come here and someone loves it as the most favorite destination in Asia. What about you!!! How much do you know about Bangkok??

Bangkok is bad traffic: Yes, it’s true. Bangkok has more than 12 Million people live here and it seems to be more for each year long. If you talk about Bangkok in 10 years back, traffic was worst than now a day. It took about almost 2 hours from the Bangkok airport to get into the city but today it takes about 30-40 minutes to get into the city as we have the express way now. In the city, we also have Sky train and Subway.

Bangkok is dirty and pollution : No, Bangkok is not dirty as there’re many clean team worker from Bangkok Metropolitan office come to clean in early morning every day. On Monday, is a cleaning day. There is only a day in a week that the street vendor shops are not allowed to open. But Bangkok is still pollution especially rush hour in the business areas. However, the each government are trying to solve this problem and it’s getting better but quite slow.

Bangkok is the city of prostitute : This is the most sad part to hear people talk about Bangkok like this. I feel sad for my city because it’s not so true and I feel sad for the tourist who got the idea like this as their vision is very small. I know that prostitute here is very high reputation about Bangkok because SOME tourist do this when they come to Thailand :
* Single/married men come here alone as free man. They may come here with sadness or stress emotion and need to have fun on there vacation to forget the world. They may be old, ugly, fat and rude BUT they got money.
* They hear about sex reputation in Bangkok and others. They make decision to come here without any knowledge about Thailand.
* They’re not really interested about historical tour as they can’t stand with the heat and humidity. So, they stay easy in a day and go out at night for a drink.
* Tourist keeps telling each other to go to the night area bars for fun and sex
* Many men are so happy because Thai girls are beautiful, friendly and gentle. Some men fall in love and got married with bar girls.
* They have fun, get drunk, spend money and buy many things to bar girls.
* At the airport, some bar girls go to see them off. The tourist cries and goes home with another type of sadness.
* Bar girls go back to the bar and meet other man on that night..

This is a circle of life and sex business. One thing you should know is if there is no tourist, prostitute could be reduced for more than half of all prostitutes in this country.....

I feel sorry for bar girls as they can’t choose life to be born in well education and wealthy family.
Other wise, they don’t have to let fat, old, ugly or very drunk men to hug and kiss them in public.

As being in traveling business for many years, I met many tourist men and there’re many times I got a question if I could sleep with them. I don’t know what to say but just feel sorry for them and forgive in their small world.

I apologize to those who disagree but I’m a girl and Thai.
It’s big part to hurt my feeling when people talks bad about Thai girls

Hope you know Bangkok better now

Very informative page on Thailand, the local customs are great to learn. I checked the hotel SUK 11, they have strict booking policy. But price is reasonable.
