That's the original name of San Antonio. This beautiful, colonial city, deep in the heart of Texas, enthralled me. The incredible Alamo, the wonderful Riverwalk, the cleanliness of the city, and the chance to meet some really nice people. San Antonio is always worth a visit.

In many ways, it's a trip back in time: to Spanish colonial days, to one of history's most famous battles, to the revolution that took Texas away from Mexican rule, and to the formation of Texas itself - it's all there in San Antonio. And for such a big city, San Antonio is very compact and walkable.

San Antonio has something for everyone. History buffs will enjoy the Alamo, the rest of the old Spanish missions scattered throughout the area, and some nice museums. The kids will love SeaWorld and Six Flags, and everyone will dig the Riverwalk.

I only had the chance to spend a weekend in San Antonio, but I hope you enjoy my tour of this fascinating city. And I hope you can get there too one day.

The first place most people think of with San Antonio the Alamo.

The Riverwalk is great by night...

...and by day too!

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:There's something for everyone
  • Cons:One weekends wasn't enough to see everything
  • In a nutshell:Compact, walkable, fun - my fave city now in Texas!
