Santa Barbara is a pretty, laid back town a little north of Los Angeles. I felt like I left city life behind for a few hours. Hang out at the beach, stroll along Stearns Wharf and State Street, and enjoy a fun day.
Since the movie "Sideways" came out, the wine country surrounding Santa Barbara has become famous. Drive a little outside Santa Barbara for all sorts of vineyards, and scenery that will take your breath away.
All this, barely an hour from LA...amazing!
- Pros:A laid back part of California, not far from LA
- Cons:I wish I had more time there

Oh i heard the jazz too when i was at the Stearn Wharf yesterday. Am trying to locate the band but the Stearns Wharf Vintners does not seem to have a website...
