"GO FLY A KITE!................(IN CALLAWAY)" Callaway by Rich62

CALLAWAY, NEBRASKA

I'll tell you about the kite-flying in my Callaway "Travel Tips" below. But for starters, the town of Callaway, Nebraska has about 650 residents and is located in Custer County along highway 40. The town is north of Cozad and Lexington and just a few miles southwest of Broken Bow. Callaway is lacking in a lot of things; lacking in traffic jams, lacking in crime, and lacking in smog (except on the rare occasion when the wind is blowing directly from Denver.). I took this photo toward the town from a nearby hillside.*

TURN NORTH HERE

At this sign you should turn north off of highway 40, and you will be in Callaway shortly. The billboard proclaims Callaway as the "Kite Flight Capital of Nebraska". Check the "Travel Tips" below for an explanation.*

NOW YOU ARE IN CALLAWAY

Here you are in downtown Callaway, where they have developed a nice mini-park on a corner, complete with a Union Pacific caboose and this welcoming sign. However they have a much larger park for your enjoyment as well, which you can find in my Callaway "travel tips" below.*
