I moved here thirty-some years ago from Colorado, and have come to love the rich, brown soil of Nebraska and the dark green crops it grows across endless fields. This is a good place to be.*

Many Nebraska cornfields are irrigated by giant center pivot systems that move in a circle. From an airplane, this creates a landscape of "green polka dots".

Or, for short, "The Arch." Located in the air space over interstate 80 two miles east of the Kearney exit, this new museum commemerates the trails that came by here. The Oregon Trail, Mormon Trail, Pony Express, The Great Transcontinental Railroad, and America's first Transcontinental highway all come right by Kearney, Nebraska.
