It has become a tradition to present a small selection of exquisite pieces belonging to the Princely Collections in Vaduz in the context of thematic rotating exhibitions. Over the course of 400 years of collecting, the Princes of Liechtenstein have demonstrated a marked interest in such works, which have also met their social and cultural need for representation. Thus, a rich inventory of works of art has been compiled over the centuries, not only including painters and sculptors like Rembrandt, Rubens, Jodaens, Batoni, Duquesnoy, Susini, Rauchmiller and Soldani, but also telling the most beautiful stories of Greek and Roman antiquity.

Nemorino Wed Jun 24, 2009 22:55 UTC It's appropriate that a postage-stamp-size country like Liechtenstein should have such a good postage stamp museum -- but I'm sure the people in Vaduz are sick of hearing lame jokes about that, LOL. | nomorewars Wed May 13, 2009 01:16 UTC I use to visit Vaduz quite frequently while I lived in Germany; it was a great place to shop for rare and out-of-print books. I remember the Schloss Vaduz quite vividly; it was an excellent area for hiking. | volopolo Sat Dec 13, 2008 17:42 UTC i love your Schloss (Castle) Vaduz picture. Nice page also with great tips | titabell Sun Dec 7, 2008 12:45 UTC Hello Peter! This is a stunning city! Very helpful and practical tips too! Thank you. |
