Uncovered not so long ago, by someone, the Tomb of Queen Nefatari offers the tourist a perfect opportunity to get out of bed early in the morning since it is only open for about 30 minutes each day at around 7 o'clock. Descending from the already warm heat of the Egyptian sun, one follows a passage down to the most ornately decorated tombs ever found. It is hard to believe that the paintings were devised over 2000 years ago because the use of colour is outstanding. Wandering around the chilly underground cavern one is transported a thousand miles away from the hum-drum life of the Nile Valley and back to an ancient and superstitious age where human life means less than table manners.
Then it's time for breakfast.
