Wabush is located on the east coast of Canada in the prvince of Newfoundland and Labrador. The township was established in 1967 as a Iron Ore mining community and still prospers today as having one the richest iron ore deposits in the World.

Wabush is located just a few KM away from another Iron Ore town named Labrador City. The area is referred as Labrador West by the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Development of the area's impressive iron ore bed required skilled workers. Good salaries and benefits and an excellent quality of life lured individuals to what was in the early 196O's, a truly remote region. People came from all over the world for what they anticipated to be a year or two. Some thirty years later, these early pioneers have or are now approaching retirement with second and even third generations residing in the region.
