We managed to get tickets for the FIFA WC 2006 in Germany and one of our stations were Berlin. So my main impressions were football, the FIFA Fan Fest ("Fanmeile") and meeting fans from all over the world.... Nevertheless I did not forgot to visit Berlin's main attractions, although my time was limited. So probably my Berlin-page will be helpful, if you stay there only for one or two days. |
Although it was not my first visit in Germany, this trip changed my picture of my neighbor country and its inhabitants. The Germans were incredibly friendly and they understand to make a party like the WC 2006. |
Berlin itself is still Europe's biggest building lot and an absolutely must-see for people intrested in modern architecture. Although it is obvious, that many areas of old-Berlin do not exist any more due to the bombings in WWII there are still many restaurated sights worth a visit. |
