"My hometown" Kokkola by shiri86

Kokkola Travel Guide: 6 reviews and 29 photos

Kokkola is small town of 35 000 people. It's a quite typical finnish city. It's located on the west coast. It's the most northern town in Finland where swedishspeaking people are an imoprtant part of the everyday life.

The old town of Kokkola is located near the centre. It's the largest area of old treehouses in Europe.

Suntti is a small river that runs trough the town. It's nice to walk along it, all the way to the sea/beach if you like, it's only a few km away.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Small and safe, near the sea and nature.
  • Cons:Not much happens here, if action is what you're looking for
