Metropolis: Pleasant restaurant in Sultanahmet
  • Tip Rating:

  • Restaurant Name: Metropolis

There are so many restaurants to choose from in Sultanahmet, and many of them have quite similar food on the menu. We had dinner at Metropolis one evening - this cafe / restaurant is situated on Akbiyik Cad., next to the Acropol Hotel. There are many hotels, restaurants and cafes along Akbiyik Cad. and the restaurant has a pleasant outdoor seating area, great for people-watching!

I had a vegetable kebab - mixed vegetables (mushroom, onion, pepper, aubergine, tomato, zucchini, potato...) served with rice and a yoghurt dressing. My friend had a lamb kebab, served with rice and a baked potato, and lots of vegetables. It was all very tasty, and there was loads of food.

The restaurant was somewhat expensive, which was to be expected when we chose to have dinner right in the middle of the most touristy area of Istanbul...:o)

Gorgeous photos, I'm a bazaar-lover too. Leeches - I remember well my own encounters with the creatures swimming in waterholes! Ugh!! Istanbul out of season is the way to go. Nice page. leyle
