Pärnu, with it's long white sandy beach, is known as "the Summer Capital" of Estonia. The first spa opened here around 1830, and the town has been a popular resort destination since then, with an ever increasing number of spas and sanatoriums.
Pärnu only has around 45 000 inhabitants, but the small seaside town is very lively in the summer months, with lots of outdoor cafés and restaurants. Pärnu is situated in the southwestern part of Estonia, 130 km from Tallinn - and can be easily seen on a day trip from the capital.
The beach is of course the town's main attraction - but the small town itself is very pleasant, and definitely worth a visit. |

Lovely doors as well, but why are they all closed ? | SWFC_Fan Mon May 1, 2006 23:47 UTC Hey Mette, the VT card that you sent me is "no longer valid" :-( Is this a *known* glitch...or did you withdraw it? ;-) Beach BBQs in Tromso sound great....and hopefully that snow will melt *soon*! :-) | Groverdean Tue Oct 18, 2005 11:16 UTC Visited Parnu in '94 for 5 days and spent most days walking around or sitting on the beach.
