Nightlife Spot: Any bar.
Patpong is a night market and a red light district. The market has great items and bargaining is a must. Most of the stripclubs on the street level are very tame compared to the ones up the stairs. If you are brave, go upstairs and check it out. Here is a hint....hookers and strange stage acts. Patpong is very popular even though it is fairly small and has the same goods as other markets. It is worth seeing though. Many many bars.

Nightlife Spot: Royal City Avenue/Route 66
This place is a whole street of clubs. The clubs are packed with not much room for dancing. Many people are sitting at tables outside because inside is so packed. Be careful that you dont go in gay clubs accidentally, unless that is your thing. Also, be careful of ladyboys and hookers.

Khao San Road: Khao San Road

Khao San is a very famous road in Bangkok. It is the hub for all backpackers and budget travellers. At night, the road is lit up by all the different neon signs. It is a great place to find budget hostels. The nightlife is also good. They have bars, pubs, clubs, and restauarants. If you are planning a trip to Cambodia, Khao San is the place where many of the buses leave from and can be booked.
