From Guernsey I made a pretty and inexpensive round trip excursion to Herm Island.
I bought a ticket for a ferry and after 20 minutes or so navigation I arrived to Herm, where there were no cars, no bicycles either, although I noticed a kind of tractor to help some old people of the ferry who could not walk up until the only village.
I visited an emblematic place called Mermaid Tavern, the island social centre, where they serve local beer and food. The place is so called because an old cargo boat used to supply good to the island from the other Anglo-Normand islands.
No much more to do in Herm Island. I walked around the island in a couple of hours, or so, stopping in Shell Beach, which I was told it was the most beautiful of the island, with white sand. But I did not swim since it was in March the waters are pretty cold.
There is even an airport and most of the tourists fly in from England.
In the afternoon I took the ferry back to Guernsey and slept in the port premises.
