"The volcano Chance’s Peak" Montserrat by jorgejuansanchez

I flew to Montserrat due to my goal to visit all the english colonies around the world (Gibraltar, Malvinas, Santa Helena, Pitcairn, etc.).
Columbus named this island Montserrat because its mountainous silhouette reminded him the Benedictine Monastery of Montserrat, in Barcelona, Spain.
I flew with LIAT airlines to Montserrat from Antigua. But I was not lucky. The main town, Plymouth, was closed because the volcano Chance’s Peak was about to erupt. I had to go to St. John and stayed in a sporting stadium together with many other people who could not go to their houses in Plymouth.
In St. John there was a Guest House called Rita, but was occupied by the refugees from the volcano.
Owing to this situation and to the fact that many roads were closed, I decided to fly back to Antigua the next day.
