From the huge Jain statue devoted to Gommateshvara Bahubali, in Shravanabelagola, Karnataka, I traveled to Mysore to meet a Spanish girl (born in Almeria but living in Switzerland) with whom I would travel to Kerala.
Once together we took the original toy-train to Ooty (train journey declared by UNESCO as Patrimony of the Humankind), in Tamil Nadu, and proceeded to Cochin (also known as Kochi), already in Kerala.
After a few days visiting that historical town, we heard of a fantastic trip by boat along the Backwaters, what excited our imagination and resolved to travel to Allepey (also known as Alappuzha) to start that unique journey until Quilon (also known as Kollam), which lasted 9 hours.
During that time we saw coconut trees, monkeys, parrots and other exotic birds and paradisiacal nature. That journey was really a wonder, apart from romantic.
Once in Quilon we rested for a few days and then we decided to celebrate that fantastic navigation trip in the beautiful beach of Kovalam, south of Trivandrum (also known as Thiruvananthapuram), and a few days later we headed to Madurai and entered Tamil Nadu.
