So much to see....

I went to Beijing in the middle of winter... the weather was cold, but in a way made things easier to visit... sites were much less crowded, so all my pictures so the great scenery without hordes of people in the background. Of course, the flip side is that there are not many green plants or anything in those backgrounds...

I met a gal at Tianamen Square. Friendly. Fluent in English & Mandarin. She suggested a teahouse nr Forbidden City. Just for tea & "snacks," the bill was 2000 RMB (c. $300). I got it reduced to about half--still too much. Beware of HAO HUA TEA HOUSE.
