Rex Rooftop My friend and I arrived late at night to Ho Chi Minh City. Fortunately our hotel, the Rex, had a roof top bar that was open twenty-four hours. The rooftop at the Rex was a great convenience. Although the rooftop bars at the Shearaton and Caravelle were swankier and had higher rooftops, the Rex had a lot of charm. And, again, it was open twenty-four hours (none of the other hotel bars offered this convenience). |
Crazy Streets Saigon is a bright city full of life and with a constant cacophony of sounds. The streets exemplified this aspect of Saigon. It was amazing to watch the madness with which the traffic travelled, but you take your life into your own hands when trying to get across one of the streets. |
Overall, Saigon was one of the more fun and unique places I have visited. As an American you get a great sense of history being in Vietnam, but Saigon of today is so lively it makes it difficult to believe that this could ever have been a bad place to be. |
