A tent set up in the lobby of a major hotel

This is a hotel that is located on the waterfront close to the bank building with the shape of an electric razor. Unfortunately I do not remember the names of either.
There is a good kilim shop in the lobby, literally 5m away from the tent you see above, where I achieved a feat - two antique rugs (the proof is the enormous amount of dust in them) for $500US. Maybe it was a rip-off!?

Pros and Cons

Pros:Easy mix of modern and old, rich and poor
Cons:During Ramadan (the time of year I visited) one has to hide when eating if anything open in the first place
In a nutshell:It thinks it is more than actually it is

Visit of local museum. It has a huge educational value. It shows what Dubai was all about before the discovery of oil... more travel advice
