WENGEN.....WONDERFUL WENGEN.... - Wengen

WENGEN UND SCHNEE......

Wengen is situated at an altitude of 1274 m. and is located in a lovely area with which I mean to say that you can find it on a WIND-PROTECTED SUN terrace hight above the LAUTERBRUNNEN VALLEY at the foot of the EIGER, MöNCH and JUNGFRAU!

This place is an ideal departure point for excursions to many attractive destinations and, although EVERYTHING there is MOST ATTRACTIVE, the JUNGFRAUJOCH - TOP of EUROPE at 3454 m. is THE place to go!

And I went there and was extremely lucky: the day was bright and sunny, the skies a wonderful azul blue......

WENGEN is ideal for a great holiday because it offers excellent skiing and hiking conditions in the SCHEIDEGG and EIGER GLACIER areas!

I can recommend this area to you from the bottom of my heart!

BTW:Wengen is car-free and a great year-round resort at the foot of the JUNGFRAU!

TRAVELLING BY TRAIN....

TRAIN IN SNOWY MOUNTAINS....

The train with which I travelled from Interlaken to WENGEN.....

A wonderful experience, but....still better was to come: a ride to THE JUNGFRAUJOCH......

Do go there and I assure you you will enjoy the photos......

and drinking tea with Swiss Cake in the sunshine.......it was another superb day.

These icicles where above my head and I loved them! Seldom see these things in The Netherlands but I have seen them in RUSSIA, see my MOSCOW page......

Will I need a sledge when I' m there in May? I wouldn't mind trying that. If I can't find one here maybe at Murren.

I know Wengen, a lovely little village at the foot of the Jungfrau.
