EVERY DAY SPENT IN OOSTENDE IS A GREAT ONE....

MAY I INTRODUCE TO YOU: LANGE NELLE, the LIGHTHOUSE of Oostende!!

Oostende is a place in Belgium which I visit regularly for many, many good reasons!!

I now intend to make a nice page with the photographs I took and will tell you about the joys of this seaside city .........

I will start carefully, because of the VT changes and as for me, I hope I will be able to continue as I have always done even though the TRAVELOGUES won't be ratable anymore, which doesn't mean a thing to me if only I can help and please you, my readers........

PEBBLES FOR A FISHERMAN'S NET

When fishermen cast their nets somewhere they want to be sure that they go down as far as possible.

The onkly thing to do is add some heavy thing to the nets and then they certainly will sink as deep as possible and let's hope the catch will be OK....

Nowadays we use awfully large nets in between two trawlers and they even reacht the bottom of the sea and scrape everything away....

An easy way to kill all MARINE LIFE..... which what we do trying to stop this way of fishing will help one day....but perhaps it is already too late.

We here in The Netherlands have already to pay more for fish, "ordinary" fish, than for meat, even the best pieces of meat!!

Cons:NONE.....
In a nutshell:WONDERFUL DESTINATION FOR WONDERFUL, RELAXING DAYS..

Hi ! I made a tram tour from Blankenberge to Oostende and back when we last went there. It was fun ! ;-) Great tip !

The tram tour sounds just the thing to do. The whole stretch along th coastline sounds wonderful. Raversijde. sounds a very interesting area to visit.

A very nice page of a lovely Belgium City Elisabeth , I just love the writing you add to your pictures because the writing will show a lot about the contects of the picture ,but also a lot about yourself.
