THE BURREN is a place full of wonder, beauty & discovery!
There is a wonderful underground BURREn, a CAVE, full of surprises...
Expert guides will lead you during this tour and tell you all you need to know and wish to know!
You can walk over bridges chasms, through beautiful caverns and weird formations and alongside the thunderous waterfall......
There also is the FROZEN WATERFALL , which won't spray you while you walk past!
You can also see the HIBERNATION CHAMBERS of bears (long extinct ursos arctos)....
There are also different CRAFTS-SHOPS where you can buy perfect and very special gifts for family & friends....
You can also CLIMB over the typical limestone BURREN pavements above the cave to see there the spring gentian or the mountain avans blooming to their hearts' contents'.......it will brighten your day!
Of course there is a tearoom with home-cooked food, cakes, soups and much more.....the smell of freshly baked bread and ground coffee can seduce EVERY visitor....you too, I bet.
There also is an informative nature trail, walk there, through the coppice woods......and relax.
Ahhhhhh, who doesn't know them, if only by name??
It is a great place to visit, a real must but.....take care, don't take any risks.... it IS a dangerous place .....no balustrades or something like that, only a few warmings!
This place attracts so many tourists that the many footsteps and the rain together have made it a very eroded place so don't go too close to the very edge......
The CLIFFS OF MOHER, the great wall of THOMOND as they have been called, drop a sheer 700 ft. into the ATLANTIC, tall and towering bastions to the mighty ocean.
O'BRIEN'S Tower is the best Location, along their entire length, from which to view the CLIFFS.
To the NW the ARAN Islands lie across the entrance to Galway Bay and beyond the Bay, visible in clear weather, is mountainous CONNEMARA with its distinctive " TWELVE BENS".
FROM NORTH TO SOUTH THE CLIFFS ARE KNOWN LOCALLY AS aillenasharragh, carrickatreel, knockardachuan, o'brien's tower on branawnmore across from branawnbeg, stookeen and Hag;s Head.....
Vast colonies of birds nestle along the cliff ledges - fulmars, shags, puffins, guillernots, kittiwakes and razorbills, TOGETHER WITH VARIETIES OF GULLS......
This FROZEN WATERFALL at the AILLWEE CAVE in the BURREN is one of the more spectacular flowstone formations to be seen at the AILLWEE CAVE ....
Guided tours of Ireland's most wonderful cave enables the visitor to experience the BURREN underworld!
I can strongly recommend this CAVE to you.....I myself was there more than once and it is and always will be impressive and a wondrous experience.....
- Pros:NOTHING BUT PRO'S......GO THERE, IT REALLY IS A MUST AND A REVELATION....
- Cons:NONE.....
- In a nutshell:A GIGANTIC REVELATION.....

oh my goodness...your ireland page is wonderful...but then you always do a brilliant job....
I'm going to explore other Irish pages of yours. Very interesting information and you sound so enthusiastic.
wonderful pages and very helpful as I am going next week. Are the sulphur springs hot?
Great page and you make me crazy to go there... Greetings from sunny Tychy :-)
What a brilliant name O'Looney's! Great page Bes
so much info! so few visitors here?? I wonder. Most lovely page in my opinion! greetings.
Verry good descriptions, nice pictures of a place that it reminded me of some parts of my island. Ireland is always in my mind, and I hope that some day I'll pay a visit once more, this time on my own sailing boat
