One year, travelling from VENEZIA, wonderful, mysterious Venezia we went southward into the interior. We visited, driving through the wonderful scenery, oh so beautiful, Chioggia, called "the little Venezia", visited Ravenna with its WONDERFUL MOSAICS which we enjoyed to our hearts' contents.....
We thenCROSSED THE RIVER RUBICON, so well known because Ceasar representing a declaration of war on Pompey and Senate, by crossing this river in 49 BC. (You do know the saying: TO CROSS THE RUBICON....?)to drive to RIMININI....
The river marked the border of Italy and Cisalpine Gaul IN ANCIENT TIMES....
After a short stay there, in Rimini (it is not a place for simple campers !!! very, far too luxurious!)we drove into the Interior of ITALY to arrive at SAN MARINO, which lies some 25 km. from the ADRIATIC (have a look in your Atlas!!)
I prefer to put addresses, tips, specialities etc. in my travelogue texts so have a look there or....email me and I shall help you find answers to your questions by going through my travel reports.
PLEASE, HAVE A LOOK AT MY TRAVELOGUE(S), ALL MADE WITH MUCH PLEASURE AND LOVE...
- Pros:A SMALL COUNTRY BUT OH, SO FILLED WITH BEAUTY.....
- Cons:ABSOLUTELY NONE...
- In a nutshell:VISIT EUROPE AND DON'T FORGET SAN MARINO......
