  • SHOPPING even on Saturday afternoon although most shops in Germany close at 1PM on Saturday afternoons!!

Lots of lovely shops e.g. a very tastefully collection of interior decorations and small pieces of furniture....and a great bookshop, near the Ulmer M?nster (on the square)....

This also is a wonderful place for a rest at one of the outdoor caffees!

  • walk while looking up!! and you will see lots of wonderful signs for a bakery e.g. (like in this photograph, and many more which will surprise you!

If you want to see more lovely signs then it would be great if you would have a look at my ROTHENBURG (Germany) page........

This sign reads: ULMER ZUCKERBROT: Sugar bread from Ulm and of course I bought some and I can assure you that is is GREAT!

The city is a very pleasant one and the greatest attraction is the Ulmer M?nster.....

Climb the tower, yes, I know, quite a lot of steps but it is so very rewarding and you can take your time, no one is hurrying you!

The sky was still grey that day but a few days later I got all the BLUE SKIES I could wish for in SLOVENIA and that for almost 4 weeks on end........lucky me, oder?

  • It made me wonder.....how can you live here???

What to do when the beams, heavy European oak are acting strange but seem to be strong enough to not let you and everything you have in your house fall down?

I wouldn't know, would have liked seeing the inside!

  • Of course you must have a look inside the Ulmer M?nster: it is a wonderful, patient and ancient giant, who, like Gulliver let us climb on top of him without complaints of tickling and bumping while walking and climbing, so impressive as a wonderfully old grandfather he is and still going strong!

Enjoy it all to the full and try to realize how very special this is!

The windows e.g. are most wonderful, especially when the sun makes the most of the grandiose colours....

Keep your eyes on the tower and your feet will take you there...........

  • Only 10 minutes on foot away from the M?nster, durch The Neue Strasse and across the Herdbr?cke (bridge)

The museum is situated at the PETRUSPLATZ in Neu-Ulm.

Edwin Scharff (1887 - 1955) is one of the best-known sculpters of the first half of the 20th Century.

Models, drawings and paintings give us an idea of his work, from very early works to later works......

The Museum always has special Exhibitions about Classical Modern artists/works and these make a visit very wortthwhile.....

Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday OPEN 1PM - 5PM

    Wednesday and Sunday OPEN 10AM - 5PM

    Mondays closed.

You can call for reservations for guided tours and for more info...
