we had to spend the night in a NOVOTEL in BEAUNE (BOURGOGNE) because this time we weren't going to camp but we could use my friends house in Céret.....
After some 750 km. we arrived here and I love diving into the swimmingpool when there is one!!
And the day was a beautiful bright one!
Céret is a town in the south east of France, near the Spanish border and situated in the Pyrenees / Catalunya......
We had been there before so we knew what beauty was awaiting us so we were looking forward to this visit again.....
Céret is situated on the spot where the Tech-valley turns into the area ROUSSILLON;
Céret is an important place for MODERN ART.
There is a memorial for the Fallen
by MAILLOL.
There also is a modern MUSEUM with works of Art of THE "FAUVES" such as PICASSO, MATISSE, DUFY, MARQUET and more, who have influenced Modern Art extremely.
Over the TECH is a old bridge dating from the 14th Century, with onely one arch of 45 meters!.
The name of the bridge is: THE DEVILS-BRIDGE.
