WHEN I THINK OF REIMS..... I think of its most wonderful CATH?DRALE called NOTRE-DAME DE REIMS .
Each time I enter this City of Reims in France, one of the many so gorgeous & attractive cities, I notice the same warm feeling of happiness and welcome that I have known and experienced for decades on end already!
It feels like meeting an old friend, a best friend.
This was the CATHEDRAL for the ANOINTING OF KINGS .....
Reims was, for a millennium, one of the most important places in FRENCH HISTORY .
Built largely during the 13th Century and completed in the 15th Century this historic building is a MASTERPIECE of GOTHIC ART , remarkable for bothits architecture and its statuary.
You can climb the 250 steps up to the very sky and I can recommend this to you!
Of course there are guided tours
WARNING: OPENING TIMES MAY VARY ! .
The Cathedral is e.g. closed from 1st November till 14th March so it is of importance that you go there well informed!
