Those that are coloured YELLOW are EU countries: BELGIUM, DENMARK, GERMANY, FINLAND, FRANCE, GREECE, IRELAND, ITALY, LUXEMBOURG, THE NETHERLANDS, AUSTRIA, PORTUGAL, SPAIN, THE UK, AND SWEDEN.

The light pink coloured countries are candidate members: BULGARIA, CYPRUS, ROMANIA AND TURKEY.

The dark pink coloured states will be new member in 2004 and how they are looking forward to being members!

And so, bit bt bit, the EUROPEAN UNION is growing & growing.....

The IDEA behind what is now the EUROPEAN UNION was put into words by the French MINISTER of Foreign Affairs, Mr. ROBERT SCHUMAN op MAY 9TH 1950........

May 9th offers us the opportunity to celebrate the realisation of these ideas and to think about its aims; PEACE, FREEDOM, PROESPERITY AND COOPERATION.

9th MAY 2004 WILL BE A HISTORIC DAY: 10 new members will join the UNION and it will be the most ambitious increase / GROWTH of the European Union EVER.

THIS BABY IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE DUTCH....

DUTCH AND EUROPEAN...

and EUROPEAN!!
WE NEVER WILL LOSE OUR OWN IDENTIES : EUROP WILL BE A DIVERSE CONTINENT CONSISTING OF MANY DIFFERENT PEOPLES!
And the EURO is only easy!

I LIVE HERE.......

MY ASSISTANT FOR THREE YEARS ALREADY....

For years on end I have spent my holidays in europe, trying to find out who and how my neighbours are!!! Quite a job but very worthwhile. I can highly recommend it to everyone, realising at the same time that for me this is more easy than for my travel friends who have to cross the SEVEN SEAS to reach europe! But DO give it a try, why not !! ?? It has so MUCH to OFFER travellers who want to absorb absolute beauty, serenity, folklore and exceptionally special food for both, body and soul("take away").

Store it and savour it bit by bit, share it with friends afterwards and you'll feel, smell, taste everyting again and again, take my word.
