THE WORLD IS ROUND, SO TRAVELLERS SAY.....

I DID IT !! my (oldest & most precious) pages (to me) are NO LONGER in an abominably poorly state: being a TRUE VT MEMBER FOR OVER 11 YEARS is not an advantage .... but I soldiered on ! I went through all my pages and although it took me on & off 2 years, I have managed to delete hundreds of thousands of HTML tags: ALL MY PAGES are readable again.....408 TRAVELOGUES with thousands of photos and texts are ready for you to enjoy!! I DID IT !!

I love this World, Mother Earth, her trees, flowers and plants, her wide variety of animals, her landscapes, skyscapes and seascapes, lakes and oceans, rivers and thundering or whispering waterfalls, waving green grass of yellow corn, deserts and dunes, canyons and vast rolling plains with their thousands of colours, mountains and sweet valleys.
Most of all I love wandering and roaming about while being silenced by alls these joyous, fabulous manifestations of nature under blue or white, grey or threateningly lead coloured skies.
Last but not least: isn't it most wonderful to meet soulmates, who like I myself, use all their senses not to miss anything of all these miraculous phenomena, who then become real FRIENDS !!
Let's feel lucky, privileged and contented to be here and let's SHARE this Earth and learn (by travelling e.g.) to TOLERATE, ACCEPT and RESPECT each other.
Together we are strong and must be able to find WISDOM somewhere, somehow, we MUST.

ME IN DISGUISE......ABOUT GOOD & BAD GIRLS....

This is my old schoolbus and is now my sweet little travelbus..........

Being a bad girl, believe me or not: it brings me EVERYWHERE I want to go.......ain't that GREAT ?

Travelling light is a real MUST and yet I need my bus because I am such a pack-rat, a little hoarder......

I could easily open a MUSEUM showing my COLLECTIONS of shells, pieces of rock, wonderful pebbles polished by endlessly rubbing elbows with its millions of companions in the surf on a beach somewhere, colourful feathers, pieces of wood, seed pods, brittle skeletons of little animals, dried flowers thin & transparant as a butterfly's wings, leatherware, little jars with sand in all kinds of colours.....music.....yes, yes, I do travel light!

After the murder of my beloved son we try to start going on with life :

SUMMER HOLIDAY 1 week in Austria and 1 week in Germany

short trip in December, destination: not yet decided

ABOUT THE NETHERLANDS, MY HOME COUNTRY......

ME SKATING.....

We have 4 SEASONS and I LOVE them all!

PROMISING SPRING after a COLD, GREY WINTER with SUNNY DAYS FOR SKATING, BRIGHT summerlight, the SUN RIGHT ABOVE my head and atmospheric, enchanting, calming down AUTUMN....time for reflection, resting, enchantment, preparation time for WINTER FESTIVITIES......

I feel HAPPY here and PRIVILEGED to be born here in The Netherlands, in Europe, that safe, warm, rich cradle of our Western CIVILIZATION.

A great startingpoint to EXPLORE other countries and civilizations, each with their own richness of customs and habits, religions and cultures........and I started exploring, well-prepared and eager, curious and indefatigable and have never stopped: LIKE A MOUNTAIN STREAM I AM, AN INSATIABLE TRAVELLER.....

And there is still so much to visit, to learn about, people to meet......pages to make to share my experiences with you.....

WHY shouldn't you start exploring THE NETHERLANDS?

ORANJEBITTER.....

This is called: ORANJE BITTER.

A lovely drink......and we drink it when there is something special to be celebrated concerning our SWEET ROYALTY..... .
Their name is VAN ORANJE , therefore the orange coloured drink.

We drink to their HEALTH, HAPPINESS AND WELL-BEING when there is a BIRTHDAY, the ANNOUNCEMENT of an ENGAGEMENT, a WEDDING, the BIRTH of a PRINCE or PRINCESS and..............yes princess MAXIMA & WILLEM-ALEXANDER (our crown-prince) are expecting their first baby, so................then again we shall propose a TOAST!!

We love our ROYAL FAMILY and they love us, we wouldn't like missing them......never ever.....

LONG LIVE OUR QUEEN !

Nee schaatsen kan ik helaas niet. De plas waar ik altijd met de hond wandel ziet er wel heel gezellig uit met al die schaatsende mensen.
