Ubud Balinese Dancers

A Balinese Dancer in Ubud
In the grounds of the temple of the Balinese royal family they have traditional dancers most nights.
The shows go for about an hour and a half and tell the story of Rama and Sinta.
I don't always seem to be able to follow the story too well but the expertise of both the dancers and the musicians on the gamilan and drums are amazing.
The costumes are pretty good too.
All in all it's well worth the night out to take in a bit of Balinese Hindu culture.
Me and a Snowman at Bali Bersalju,Kuta Bali

The new Bali Bersalju

Snow and ice in Bali now who would have believed it.
This place is only very new but well worth the look if you can stand the cold.
They have some magnificent ice carvings of a Garuda and some Balinese temples as well as every star sign.
They even have some snow guns blasting out snow and a snowman and two toboggan sled tracks.
This place is located at the back of the carpark in the Kuta Gallaria carpark.
Dont worry about jackets or warm cloths as they supply you with a jacket like the one I'm wearing here.
You cant see it here but I was wearing thongs and my feet were freezing..Brr
It's a 50 degree difference betwen inside and outside!!

A Kintamani monkey

The view from the top of the active Kintamani volcano is quite spectacular and the cheeky monkeys running around the viewpoint area are fascinating to watch as well.
This mountain is 1717m high and is roughly a 4 hour trek from the small village below.
Behind the monkey you will see the crater lake called Lake Batur with mount Abang in the distance.
Soon I will be adding a volcano trekking page in my things to do section.
