"Weekend Getaway" Blue Mountains National Park by austarman

This photo is taken from the lookout point at Echo Point not far from the town of Katoomba.
Lots of tourist buses pull up here because the view for miles can be exceptional if there is no fog around.

Me in the Cableway Blue mountains

In the Blue mountains there are lots of rides that can be done from the scenic point near Katoomba.
There is a Scenic railway, a Cableway and a Skyway which all give you great views of the national park and Katoomba falls.
This pic is of me inside the Skyway which crosses above the valley near to the Katoomba Falls.
A great view and a smooth ride can be experienced from in here with a driver/guide pointing out all the features and history of the area.

Scenic railway Blue mountains

This railway used to transport coal miners down the mountain to work almost 100 years ago.
Now it is much more comfortable and just for tourists.
The railway is the steepest in the world and takes you through a cave on the way down to the valley and boardwalk walkway below.
