Off The Beaten Path: Minnamurra rainforest
  • Tip Rating:
  • These falls are part of the Budderoo national park which are situated about a 30 to 40 minutes drive south of Wollongong close to the village of Jamberoo.
The Minnamurra rain forest has a 1.6km elevated Rainforest Loop Walk with a network of raised timber boardwalks that crosses over many creeks.
This first walk is an easy walk with disabled access and takes about an hour.
About half way around the Rainforest Loop Walk visitors have the option to walk to the Minnamurra Falls.
This track covers a distance of about 2.6 kms (return) and is much harder and steeper than the first one, but the view of the Minnamurra falls at the top is worth the climb.
If you do both walks you will need about 2 and a half hours.
They have picnic and BBQ areas as well as a food and souvenier shop.

  • There's a mountain range that runs along adjacent to the Pacific ocean, which is only a few kilometres from the city of Wollongong.
These mountains have numerous walking trails that are mostly well maintained and marked and they are great for bushwalking through to try to keep fit and to enjoy the peacefullness of the bush.
Here I am at Mount Kembla with my son Ben on one particular Saturday afternoon.
It takes about an hour and a half to walk this trail is called the ring track which is about 3-4 kilometres long.

Hi Brian. I can imagine Wollongong as a beautiful place after checking your tips. Australia is one country I want to visit in the near future. I wish I have the chance to see your town. Regards from Freddie of Toronto
