This is the Victory monument in Bangkok city which is located in the district of Ratchathewi to the north-east of the centre of Bangkok, on a traffic island. The monument was erected in June 1941 to commemorate the Thai victory in the brief war with the French colonial authorities in Indo-China, which resulted in Thailand annexing some territories in western Cambodia and northern and southern Laos. |

| | Sukumvit Road Sukhumvit road has all the shopping you could possibly want in a city. Also here are plenty of hotels bars and massage places. It's very interesting to walk around here although it does get hot. |
| | The BTS Skytrain The best and easiest way to get around in the city is to take the BTS skytrain. It is fast and cheap and much more reliable than our trains in Sydney plus you can get a great view of the city. I think one comes every 10 minutes! |
