This is Maya beach on Phi Phi Ley.
The island has no hotels and you cannot stay here but it is just a short boat ride from Tonsai bay pier on Phi Phi Don .
This amazing island is a national park where they made the movie "The beach" and the mountains here are amazingly steep which jut up from the water like tree lined city skyscrapers.

This is such an impressive little island with the towering cliffs, clean clear water and white sandy beaches.
There are so many little boats here at Phi Phi Don island that are seemingly always ready to take people somewhere.
From here you can go snorkeling, diving or para sailing as well as to many other smaller islands or to all different kinds or water sports.
It is also easy to find a boat that will take you to the mainland of Phuket or Krabi.

We took a Sea Angel cruise to Phi Phi island from Phuket which was a great days trip but a one day cruise to Phi Phi does not do the place justice.
There was so much more here than I thought there was and I wished i had booked to stay there for a few days at least.
There are plenty of water sports there to do plus snorkeling and diving and shopping and of coarse drinking by the beach ...my personal favorite !

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:The scenery is unbelievably beautiful
  • Cons:Transport to the Phuket pier is slow
  • In a nutshell:A great place to relax with someone special
