Rawai Beach is a favored picnic spot for Thais who flock to the seafood stalls sitting under the trees that shade this narrow but picturesque bay.
There are many restaurants along the beach here where you can have the freshest seafood in Phuket.
The beach is not so great but the water is shallow and safe for children and it is protected from the wind.
There are many long tail boats and speed boats anchored here that you can hire to make trips to the nearby islands.Rawai is still a great place to visit on a day trip just to treat yourself to a beach side seafood feast.
Meals are served either on small tables surrounded by recliners or on rattan mats that you can relax on -- all under the shade and well appointed looking out to sea.
Favorite Dish: I like the red snapper actually and they way they cook it with all the spicy sauces and garlic is very tasty.
I also like the Kampong fish and the prawns with rice and beer... Chang beer of course!
